Dying-In Los Angeles - A Protest for Safer Streets: Don’t “DOGE” LA Safety

  • LA City Hall 232 North Spring Street Los Angeles, CA, 90012 United States (map)

A coalition of non-profits and road safety advocates will be hosting a die-in* on the steps of LA City Hall to raise awareness of LA’s dystopian-level budget cuts.

The “DOGE”-like budget cuts that would gut LADOT’s ability to make streets safer.

If these cuts go through, there will be no funding for new safety improvements next year — no speed reduction measures, no protected bike lanes, no pedestrian upgrades. Nothing.

We again need to raise our voices and let Mayor Bass and our City Council know that the issue of traffic violence needs to be treated as the public health crisis that it is.

📅 Date: April 30, 2025
Time: 6:00 PM
📍 Where: LA City Hall Steps (200 N Spring St.)

Wear all RED and show up to make some noise.

Cuts to LADOT will cost lives. We cannot afford to let that happen.

*A die-in is "a protest or demonstration in which a group of people gather and lie down as if dead." (Oxford Dictionary) In our case, to represent the lives lost to traffic violence and protest the lack of effective action by our City and state leaders, as demonstrated by rising fatalities.

Parking: Parking is limited and pricey around LA City Hall. It is recommended that you ride, walk, or take Metro Line B (exit Civic Center/Grand Park Station) to City Hall.
