Making a gift in honor or memory of a loved one simultaneously celebrates someone special and supports safe streets and equitable transportation in Los Angeles. At your request, SAFE will send a personalized card to the individual (or family) being honored or recognized.

When you reach 70 and 1/2 years old, you can donate from your IRA or 401k, which is fully tax deductible. In the year you reach 72, you will be required to make a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), which is taxable income. To fulfill the Required Minimum Distribution, one can make a Qualified Charitable Contribution and not pay taxes. Learn more about your IRA and Qualified Charitable Contributions.

REGISTER FOR FINISH THE RIDE AND/OR FINISH THE RUN EVENTS
Finish The Ride and Finish The Run are fundraising events presented by and in support of Streets Are For Everyone. There are two events held annually - one in Griffith Park, in the earlier part of the year, and the second is a Halloween-themed event held in Santa Clarita on the Sunday closest to Halloween! There are great rides and runs available for all skill levels. Visit our Finish The Ride and Run page for all details and to register.
How Your Donation Helps

$50 covers a press release to the media about road safety issues.

$75 covers a single advocacy campaign for a week – a single piece of legislation, Griffith Park safety campaign, street racing campaign, etc.

$100 helps a victim of traffic violence to get back on their feet.

$200 provides road safety education and filmmaking mentoring to a team of high school students as part of the Streets, Art, SAFE Film Competition.

$300 covers a single advocacy campaign for an entire month – a single piece of legislation, Griffith Park safety campaign, street racing campaign, etc.

$500 provides a SAFE chapter or action team with the funds needed to advocate for safer streets in their area for 6 months.

$1,000 provides the funds needed to hold a small press conference, vigil, or protest for safer streets.

$2,500 provides the funds to hold a large press conference and vigil or protest for safer streets.
It also provides all the funds needed to support our work to change laws for safer streets for 2 months.

$3,000 covers the permits, sculpting, and placement of a permanent Yellow Bike Project Memorial in honor of a fallen cyclist.

$10,000 provides all the funds needed to support our work to change a law for safer streets for an entire legislative season (8 months).
