SAFE is hosting a booth at the CicLAvia -- Culver City Meets Venice, and we need your help connecting with the community and sharing essential road safety tips with participants.
This event is also an incredible opportunity to promote Finish The Ride and Run Santa Clarita—one of our biggest annual fundraisers supporting our advocacy work year-round!
Volunteer shifts are available starting at 8am and going through 4pm.
And remember that 6 hours of volunteering earns you free entry to Finish The Ride or Run!

On February 17th, 2013, Damian Kevitt was nearly killed in a horrific hit-and-run. He lost his leg, but not his purpose. That act of violence became the spark that launched Streets Are For Everyone.
From one crash survivor to one of California’s leading nonprofits, SAFE has grown into a movement that has created change in Los Angeles, across California, and the entire US.
This year marks 10 years of relentless advocacy, life-saving programs, and grassroots change since the organization officially became a nonprofit.

Join us for a fabulous day of running, riding, rolling or walking all in support of safer roads across California!
Finish the Ride was started by Damian Kevitt in the spirit of courage and determination to overcome tragedy despite insurmountable odds following him losing his leg to a hit-and-run crime.
It is a movement that has been heard worldwide to make the streets safer for all road users.
On the 26th of October 2025, enjoy the scenic San Fransciquito Bike Path and beyond, as well as the beautiful Santa Clara River Path, along with fellow cyclists, runners, walkers, and many others for our Finish the Ride and Run Santa Clarita!

Advocate Activities
In addition to our scheduled events, here are activities you can be part of any time and at your convenience.
Join SAFE in a crucial project to assess and improve the safety and quality of bike paths across LA County.
The Bike Path Report Card Project is looking for volunteers to evaluate specific sections of bike paths as you're out on your weekly rides, providing essential data that will help enhance our cycling infrastructure.

Speed and pedestrian surveys help highlight safety issues along dangerous corridors, providing valuable insight for both the community and city officials.
Over the next few weeks, SAFE and an action team of concerned citizens will be conducting speed and pedestrian surveys along Vista Del Mar - "Deadly Del Mar" - in Playa Del Rey.
More needs to be done to make Deadly Del Mar a safer road and your involvement will make our effort all the more successful.
