Map of the City of Glendale's proposed 2024 Bike Network plan

Thank you to Alek of Walk Bike Glendale for alerting us and providing the following information:

This is it! The updated Bicycle Master Plan is heading to the Glendale City Council this Tuesday at 6pm and we need your support.  We all agree that our streets can be made safer. The upcoming Bicycle Plan - which includes over 90 miles of new bicycle infrastructure - is one way to do just that for bicyclists, pedestrians, and drivers.

Your attendance at this meeting is critical.  As you may have seen on social media, there has been pushback against recent bicycle improvements by a few small, but vocal groups. Transformative changes like this can be hard, so we need to show our elected officials that there is strong support for this project from citizens across the city.  Please get involved in one of the following ways, in order of benefit:

Priority 1:  Attend the City Council meeting - Tuesday at 6pm. Please join us! This is the most impactful way to communicate your support to your city council members.  Please email walkbikeglendale@gmail.com to let us know you are coming! Address: Glendale City Hall, 613 E Broadway, Glendale, CA 91206 See the guide linked below for location details and suggestions of what to say.

Priority 2:  Email City Council in support of the bike plan. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please send an email to your city council members. We suggest sending your email by 12 pm this Monday to ensure it's read ahead of the meeting. See the guide linked below for suggestions of what to say.

Emails: anajarian@glendaleca.gov, akassakhian@glendaleca.gov, dbrotman@glendaleca.gov, easatryan@glendaleca.gov, VGharpetian@GlendaleCA.gov

Priority 3:  Call in during the council meeting - Tuesday at 6:30pm.  If you are unable to attend in person but are available on Tuesday night, please send an email AND call in to the meeting.  You can call 818-937-8100 to join the queue to speak and visit https://www.youtube.com/c/MyGlendale to watch the meeting live. See the guide linked below for suggestions of what to say.

If you are able to participate in this action alert, Walk Bike Glendale has put together a helpful guide that includes information about getting to City Hall, ideas about what to say, tips for calling in, data points to support the project, maps, links to key documents, and more - check it out here via google doc or PDF!
