Streets Are For Everyone celebrated its eighth annual Streets, Art, SAFE Film Competition on May 4 at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles!

This year’s Streets, Art, SAFE Film Competition was the largest yet: over 360 students from 29 schools across 5 CA counties as well as schools in AZ and FL competed, and, for the first year, the competition featured regional awards to acknowledge the growing impact of these students’ messages.

SAFE's accomplishments in 2023 are best summed up by a comment made by a legislative staffer, "You guys are everywhere. I thought for sure you were a huge organization. You might be small, but you punch way above your weight."

Our team is very proud of what we produced in 2023. Let's look at our accomplishments by the numbers and some of our highlights.

In Los Angeles, traffic collisions are the #1 killer of our youth aged 4-14. And, with traffic incidents on the rise in school zones, it’s imperative to educate them.

The Streets, Art, SAFE program aims to enlighten and empower students to do something about it through creative, fun, artistic, and impactful visual storytelling while also developing film and visual arts expertise.
