“Streets, Art, SAFE” Film Competition Resumes With Highest Participation Yet!

Our Streets, Art, SAFE Film Competition 2022 was a success!! Thank you to everyone that supported, participated and attended!

Each year, our Streets, Art, SAFE Film Competion honors high school students helping to combat the #1 killer of children in the United States — traffic collisions.

On May 20th, SAFE held an Oscar-style awards ceremony for the student filmmakers that participated in this phenomenal and educational program. The program pairs high school students with Hollywood filmmakers to educate others through the production and making of traffic safety PSAs.

They can choose from multiple topics, including (but not limited to), drunk driving, distracted driving, and obeying the various laws of the road.

This year, we had the highest number of PSAs submitted since the competition started 6 years ago, and over 300 students involved in the competition! Over 100 students and teachers were in attendance at the awards ceremony to receive their well-earned recognition.

Thank you to our generous sponsors, whose donations allowed us to gift grants to the winning schools’ art departments. Verra Mobility, Cruise, and Elevate Public Affairs. We look forward to furthering our relationship in future competitions. Also, big thanks to all the teachers and mentors who helped the students along the way with the production and creation of their PSAs.

Our winning PSAs were:

BEST PSA GOLD AWARD

Missing My Butterfly

Mountain View High School

BEST PSA SILVER AWARD

Nice Lipstick

Troy High School

BEST PSA BRONZE AWARD

Under The Influence

Golden Valley High School

All the winners, details of the event, and the schedule for next year’s competition are listed at www.StreetsArtSAFE.org as well as this playlist on YouTube.

We are excited to be back bringing this important direct education project to students across Southern California. It is truly making a difference in awareness among one of the populations most affected by traffic violence. If you are interested in hearing more about the competition or would like to be involved, feel free to contact us at (844) 884-7233 Ext. 804.

See you next year! Registration will open soon.
