Let Caltrans Know You Support A New Bike Path On The Schuyler Heim Bridge (SR-47) In Long Beach

Have you ever cruised the Mark Bixby Bike Path across Long Beach's modern I-710 bridge and pictured riding all the way to San Pedro, Palos Verdes, and the South Bay? It's a captivating thought, isn't it? However, the reality is that there's currently no safe route for cyclists to ride between these two destinations. Fear not because there's hope on the horizon!

Caltrans is exploring the creation of a separate bike path and bike lanes on the Schuyler Heim Bridge (SR-47) to securely connect cyclists through the bustling Long Beach and Los Angeles Harbors onto greener pastures in Palos Verdes and beyond. This initiative could revolutionize transportation in the area, offering a safe, scenic, and equitable route for cyclists to use and enjoy.

The Feasibility Study is crucial in determining whether this bikeway becomes a reality, and your input is invaluable in shaping its outcome. The new bikeway would also serve as a local connection and a vital part of the Pacific Coast Bike Trail.
