I rode Mt. Hollywood Dr. before and after the improvements and felt altogether much safer the second go-round: the especially treacherous potholes, particularly those on steep hills, are long gone, replaced with smooth pavement.

Workers paved approximately 10 problem areas, and five small areas with rougher terrain remain — though nothing nearly as dangerous as what riders encountered before June 20.

The sunshine shows no signs of abating, so strap on your helmet, grab a bottle of water, and hop on your bicycle to check out the new and improved Mt. Hollywood Drive!
