Imagine If…

Imagine waking up one day to discover that you have cancer, and you don't know how to handle it. Medical bills pile up, and finding the right doctor for treatment feels impossible. Should you even seek treatment or just give up? Everything gets caught in a spiral of confusion, and no one seems to have the time to stop and talk.

Many people live in this spiral. However, in this case, "cancer" is a traumatic traffic collision.

In 2022, 57,214 people were injured in traffic collisions in LA County alone.

If traffic violence were to be compared with cancer, it would affect more people in one county than breast cancer in the whole state of California (25,809 people).

On top of it all, we KNOW what causes traffic collisions – THEY ARE PREVENTABLE. Those 57,214 people who suffered a traffic collision in LA County in 2022 didn’t have to go through the pain and trauma or the loss of a loved one due to a preventable traffic collision. Worse, until recently, there’s been no support for the tens of thousands who go through a traffic collision.

We are grateful that those who unfortunately have to deal with cancer have services and organizations and even entire hospitals dedicated to helping and supporting them through this horrible disease. Yet, as a victim of a traffic collision, there’s not a lot out there. Except, maybe, if you get a good attorney willing to go above and beyond to take care of your needs, not just your lawsuit. But then, how do you find that amazingly good attorney? Do you believe every billboard and ad out there about personal injury attorneys?

Imagine waking up the next day after a crash without knowing how to handle it. Medical bills piling up on the kitchen tables. Should you seek justice or just give up? What if you can’t work? For survivors of traffic violence, all of this can rapidly become a spiral of confusion.

This is why SAFE provides free support for victims of traffic collisions. We call it SAFE Support.

  • SAFE Support is here to help them regain the confidence to get back out walking, on their bicycles, or in a car and enjoy the city with freedom and security.

  • SAFE Support is here to guide them through police reports and insurance forms and translate technical jargon into understandable language.

  • SAFE Support is here to help them find an attorney who will give them the attention they need for their case.

Sometimes, the simple part is helping them discover options and find what best suits their case. We help them get support for everyday needs and stand with those who have to deal with the bigger fights in courtrooms.

The challenging yet rewarding part is helping them with their emotional weight, such as guiding a cyclist run over by a car to use their justified anger toward actions that better serve their goals or just being an open ear for a parent caring for their injured child.

We hope the day you need a service like SAFE Support doesn’t come. But if it does, SAFE Support is here for you.

Please help us spread the word. Tell your friends who walk, ride, or drive that this free service is here for them. And, if you love that we do this and want to help, please volunteer or donate to provide the resources we need to continue helping others.
